Based on the analyzes carried out, a universal fiber-optic coupler / sensor has been developed, which allows for smooth feedback adjustment of the output power of the optical radiation source, unauthorized reading of information by receiving electrical pulses generated on the basis of the branched optical radiation, and, depending on the level of the branched optical radiation, to make a connection one of the optical radiation sources with a low attenuation coefficient of the fiber light guide and thereby expand the functionality of the fiber-optic coupler. When developing a universal fiber-optic coupler/sensor, an optical fiber with the greatest susceptibility to macrobending - G655 - was selected as a sensitive element, through which useful information is transmitted. It has been established that an increase in the length of the macrobending arc at a constant radius leads to an increase in the attenuation of optical radiation in the fiber. This dependence is close to linear in the range of macrobending arc lengths from zero to Pi*R
