Propagation of partially coherent beams in longitudinally modulated graded-index fibers

We show that the cross-spectral density of Gaussian-Schell model beams undergoes amplification in parametrically modulated graded-index media. The process is an analog of quantum mechanical parametric amplification, and can find applications in fiber-based imaging.
