In order to improve the metallurgical performance of pellet,experiments to add MgO-enriched material into pellet were made in the laboratory.The ratios of m(MgO)/m(SiO2) for different pellet samples were 0.09,0.16,0.25,0.34,respectively.The pelletizing ability and quality of green ball and the compression strength of pellet were tested.The results showed that the increase of MgO content in pellet by adding light burning magnesia brought about beneficial effects on the pelletizing ability and green ball quality. However,in the same roasting conditions,this operation resulted in negative effects on the compression strength of pellet.
