Al_(2)O_(3) nanoparticles were used as a kind of reinforcing agent to increase the hardness and strength of zinc/aluminum based corrosion resistant coating subject to extremely high speed and severe friction working conditions, which was aiming at improving the performance of the coating at the above-mentioned harsh conditions. Thus the effects of the(Al_(2)O_(3)) nanoparticles, their dosage,in particular,on the hardness, friction coefficient, adhesion strength, impact strength, and corrosion resistance of the coating Zn-Al based corrosion resistant coating were investigated. The microstructure and composition of the coating was analyzed as well. The results showed that the(Al_(2)O_(3)) nanoparticles could markedly increase the hardness and corrosion resistance of the zinc/aluminum based corrosion resistant coating. At the same time, the addition of the(Al_(2)O_(3)) nanoparticles contributed to decrease the friction coefficient of the coating without sacrifice of the adhesion and impact strengths. Moreover,it could be worthwhile to point out that it was critical to keep uniform dispersion of the(Al_(2)O_(3)) nanoparticles in the coatings so as to ensure optimal comprehensive performance of the coating.
