O-SULFATION OF 4-O-SUBSTITUTED DERIVATIVES OF D-GLUCURONIC ACID

The sulfation of heparan sulfate, 2-sulfation of D-glucuronic acid, is regioselective as has been reported. 4-O-substituted D-glucuronic acid derivatives were synthetized in this work to study the sulfation of monosacharide models. No selectivity between hydroxyls 2- and 3- was obtained.
