In our studies of transduction (M. R. Roberts, C. F.-R. Dissosway and H. H. Plough) with another Salmonella phage P549, we find a shift in the frequency of transductions between three major loci when the phage is derived from the original 549 cells (as from LT2) or from our usual indicator strain 533. All transductions are done on a 533 H−L−T−.
