摘要
T HE following three cases are presented because they deaI with a rather simpIe cIinica1 condition which is not at a11 common. In a cursory search of medica textbooks I have found onIy one reference. In Oppenheim’s “Textbook of Nervous Diseases” transIated into English by AIexander Bruce (I : 463, 191 I) the author states, apropos of peroneal paralysis, “I have seen these symptoms deveIop after a sprain of the ankIe.” The QuarterIy CumuIative Index Medicus from January, 1926 to date does not mention the subject, aIthough it is possibIe that it may be deaIt with in one of the various genera1 cIinica1 articles on ankle injuries. It seems that surgeons, orthopedists, and neuroIogists are not famiIiar with the fact that simpIe ankIe sprain may cause injury to the deep and superficia1 peroneal nerves.
