THE PHARMACOKINETICS AND RELATIVE BIOAVAILABILITY OF TERBUTALINE CAPSULE IN HEALTHY VOLUNTEERS

The pharmacokinetics and relative bioavailability of terbutaline sulphate capsule was studied in 10 healthy male volunteers. A single oral dose of 5 mg terbutaline sulphate capsule or tablet(Bricanyl) was given to each volunteer according to an open randomized crossover design. The concentration of terbutaline in serum was determined by HPLC with UV-detector. The main pharmacokinetic parameters of terbutaline were: AUC0→∞ 54.13±14.68 μg·h·L-1and 53.99±15.99 μg·h·L-1, Tmax 2.95±0.49 h and 3.00±0.64 h, Cmax 6.54±1.91 μg·L-1 and 6.67±2.43 μg·L-1, T1/2 2.65±0.30 h and 2.62±0.36 h。The relative bioavailability of the drug was 100.43±9.26% ,The results of statistical analysis show that two formulations are bioequivalent.
