[Purpose] To study the influence factors of early diagnosis in pancreatic cancer. [Methods] The clinical presentation of 319 cases of pancreatic cancer, especially their initial symptoms and symptoms at first visit to a doctor were analyzed retrospectively. [Results] Pain, abdominal discomfort, anorexia and obstructive jaundice as initial symptoms were found in 157, 76, 67 and 46 cases respectively. In majority of patients symptoms increased and aggravated at first visit to a doctor, especially in patients with anorexia, obstructive jaundice, back pain, fatigue, and weight loss. Seventy-three patients didn’t get necessary examination at the beginning. One hundred and two patients had been misdiagnosed at the first diagnosis.
