MRI has excellent soft tissue resolution. It is not only helpful in differentiating benign from malignant breast lesions, but can also be used as a tool for evaluating early response to treatment and predicting prognosis. By accurately monitoring vascular supply and microvascular perfusion in the tumor, quantitative dynamic contrast -enhanced MRI, a new technology, shows unique advantages in providing molecular information and biological behavior of breast cancer. The basic theory, data acquisition, and the clinical value of quantitative dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI, as well as its limitations , are reviewed in ths paper.
