Determining longitudinal residual stresses of welded thin-walled steel tubes by hole-drilling methods

The hole-drilling method for determining residual stresses of the steel welded members is introduced in this paper.Using the method we determine the distribution of longitudinal residual stresses of welded thin-walled steel tubes.It is feasible to determine residual stresses in which tensile stress plays a dominating role.
