Study on the antioxidative activites of Astragalus Polysaccharides

Objective To study the antioxidative activites in vitro of polysaccharides from Astragalus.Methods The antioxidative activites of Astragalus polysaccharides were studied through the experimentation of the total reducing power of Astragalus polysaccharides and its the scavenging activity on the hydroxyl radical and superoxide anion radical.Results The total reducing power of Astragalus polysaccharides increases with the concentration of polysaccharides.Astragalus polysaccharides has strong hydroxyl and superoxide anion radical scavenging activity.Conclusion Astragalus polysaccharides show good antioxidative activites.
