Preparation and Characterization of D-chitosan Composite Electrospun Fibers

Ultrafine fibers of D-chitosan/ Polyvinylpyrrolidone(D-chitosan/PVP) were prepared via electrospinning technology. The ultrafine fibers of D-chitosan/PVP were characterized by FT-IR. Furthermore, the effects of the solution concentration of PVP and the electrospinning voltage on the morphology of ultrafine fibers were investigated by SEM. The results showed that the concentration of PVP and electrospinning voltage had effect on the fiber morphology. When the solution concentration of PVA was at the range of 20-50%, it could be electrospun to obtain ultrafine fibers.The diameter distributions of ultrafine fibers decreased when the voltage increased from 14 to 20 k V.
