摘要
Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) are one of the main groups of agents we are hoping to emerge as a solution for the imminent threat of multidrug-resistant pathogens and a huge death toll by infectious diseases predicted by several agencies like WHO. In the future, we are going to witness an increase in the number of AMPs and are going to be major players in the global drug market. A sudden rise in the number of researchers and investors working with AMPs and the pace of technological developments in the field of high-throughput drug discovery and peptide production indicate an explosive increase in the number of AMP drugs reaching the market in coming years.
