摘要
Ecotourism, as a subset of the broader tourism industry, has gained attention as a sustainable approach to travel that promotes conservation and benefits local communities. This paper examines the role of ecotourism in the sustainable development of a country, focusing on its economic, environmental and socio-cultural impacts. By integrating the principles of sustainability into tourism practices, ecotourism contributes to the preservation of natural and cultural heritage while strengthening the livelihoods of local people. The study explores case studies from different countries to highlight successful ecotourism models and their contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In addition, the paper examines the challenges and opportunities in implementing ecotourism initiatives, particularly in developing countries where balancing economic growth with environmental protection is critical. The findings highlight the need for comprehensive policies, community engagement and collaboration between stakeholders to maximize the benefits of ecotourism and ensure its long-term viability as a driver of sustainable development.
