摘要
Objective
To investigate the correlation between interleukin-25 (IL-25) and the development of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) by detecting the changes of serum IL-25 expression level in peripheral blood of patients with COPD at different disease stages, and analyzing the correlation between IL-25 and pulmonary function changes.
Methods
COPD patients(30 cases) in Longgang Central Hospital of Shenzhen from October 2016 to March 2017 were selected and divided into acute phase COPD group and stable phase COPD group according to the development of the disease.There are 30 healthy subjects without COPD selected as healthy control group.The peripheral blood of each group was collected and the level of IL-25 was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.The percentage of forced expiratory volume in the first second percentage predicted in each blood sample was detected simultaneously.
Results
The IL-25 level in the acute phase COPD group was higher than that in the stable phase COPD group and the healthy control group (F=3.225, P 0.05). The difference between the serum IL-25 level in COPD patients at the stable and acute stages was negatively correlated with the difference of forced expiratory volume in the first second percentage predicted level in the corresponding periods (r=-0.429, P<0.05).
Conclusions
Serum IL-25 level may play an inflammatory role in the acute phase of COPD as an allergic factor.Allergic factors may be involved in the acute phase of COPD.
