Iridium Catalyzed Selective Arylation of B(3)‐H Bond of o‐Carborane via B−H/C−H Activation

Abstract An iridium catalyzed selective B−H/C−H dehydrogenative coupling for arylation of electron deficient B(3)‐H of o ‐carborane with benzamides has been developed. A plausible mechanism involving Ir III /Ir V catalyzed BH/CH activation was proposed. This work has important value for selective functionalization of B(3,6)‐H bonds via dehydrogenative coupling.
