Summary
An ongoing challenge for Li-ion batteries with silicon anodes has been the limited battery life that results from volume changes and solid electrolyte interphase growth that occurs during cycling. In a recent issue of Science, Meng and coworkers develop a solid-state Li-ion battery with a carbon-free silicon anode.
