Abstract Three kinds of mesoionic analogues (III), (VII), (IX) of heptafulvene have been synthesized by the base‐induced reaction of active methylene compounds (IV) with the dicationic ether salts (II) derived from mesoionic olates (I) and trifluoromethanesulphonic anhydride.
