摘要
Integrated electro-optical modulators play an important role in fields such as broadband wireless communication and phase code radar. Electro-optical modulator based on Lithium Niobate (LN) ridge waveguide is easy to be integrated and has good electro-optical response. In this paper, a cascade modulator based on the lithium niobate thin-film structure is designed to achieve both the phase and intensity modulation. The structure parameters of the modulator are determined through collaborative simulation, then the phase modulator and the intensity modulator are simulated. Then, the phase-intensity cascade modulator is simulated to test the output light field in three working states, respectively. The experimental results show that it not only can perform phase modulation or intensity modulation of the input light wave separately, but also can adjust the phase and intensity of the light waves simultaneously.
