CSVD patients with YADC are more prone towards developing CI, and asymmetric atrophy of the hippocampus might be the underlying neuroimaging mechanism. In particular, the volume of the left whole hippocampus and the left hippocampal molecular layer correlated significantly with general cognitive function.
