Sinopec’s natural gas exploration practice and priority

Since he Tenth Five-year Plan,Sinopec has been expanding natural gas exploration.It discovered developed the nation's largest marine high-sulfur gas field,Puguang gas field,efficiently developed the tight sandstone gas reservoirs in Wstern Sichuan Daniudi,forming Northeast Sichuan, Wstern Sichuan,Northern Ordos Southern Songliao the four main natural gas bases,enriching developing the theory of gas accumulation exploration techniques.Natural gas reserves production rose steadily by from 3.5billion m3 in 2001to 8.5billion m3 in 2009,the production in 2009is 2.4 times that of 2001,laying the resource base forSichuan-East natural gas transmission project and gasification Beijing project other major natural gas pipeline construction.Seven areas including carbonate reservoir,tight sandstone gas reservoir,volcanic gas reservoirs etc,which are in Tarim,Junggar,and Sichuan,Ordos Basin,are Sinopec Group Company’s gas development emphasis in the Twelfth Five-year Plan.
