Small persistent humid forest clearings drive tropical forest biomass losses. *Changes between versions involve partial migration of calculation code from MATLAB to Python, the addition of extra tests, the inclusion of files that were missing in earlier versions, and other small corrections* The repository contains 1) data_folder, which includes the data files (*.mat or *.tif) required to reproduce the main figures of the paper. This folder also contains the 1° biomass recovery curves used as inputs to the forest carbon bookkeeping model. 2) code_folder, which includes the scripts used to generate the main results and figures presented in the paper. Within this folder, the fig directory contains scripts for producing the main figures, the main directory contains the scripts to calculate time since last disturbance, fit biomass growth and recovery curves, and estimate the carbon changes, and the func directory contains additional supporting functions required by the main or plot scripts.
