Comparative Analysis on Semi-automatic and Automactic Welding Technology of Pipeline Circumferential Weld

The automatic and semi-automatic welding technology are used increasingly in pipeline circumferential weld welding in China.In this article,the application and characterictics of the said two welding technology were analyzed from several aspects,such as welding principle,welding material,welding groove,pipe ends connecting,welding construction and organization,welding quality control,economic efficiency etc.It pointed out that with steel pipe grade used in pipeline construction increasing,pipeline length,pipeline diameter and thickness enlarging,in order to get high quality and efficiency circumferential weld,the gas metal arc welding technology will be widely used in pipeline construction in the future.
