Maleic diester polymer fatliquor agents(PMF) were synthesized with hydrophilic monomer dodecanol maleic monoester(ME),dodecanol n-butanol maleic diester(DE),hydrophibic monomer methacrylic acid(MAA) and the initiator ammonium persulfate by the free radical water emulsion polymerization,in which more active monomer was supplemented in batches.The structure of PMF was characterized by means of FTIR.The influence of n(ME)∶n(DE),n(hydrophibic monomer)∶n(hydrophilic monomer) and the dosage of initiator ammonium persulfate on the properties of polymer fatliquor was investigated by the orthogonal test.The results show the product has better softness,emulsification and waterproof properties as the reaction temperature 80 ℃,the mass fraction of initiator ammonium persulfate is 7%(base on total mass of reaction materials),n(hydrophibic monomer)∶n(hydrophilic monomer) is 2.5∶1,n(ME)∶n(DE) is 3∶2,dropping time of the active monomer is 1.5~2.0 h.The water emulsion transmissivity of products is 30.1% and the dynamic waterproof times of sheep chromed leather(thickness 0.5 mm) fatliquored by the optimal production is 642.
