Multiscale entropy analysis of complex physiologic time series

Based on sample entropy-a modified algorithm of approximate entropy,we introduce the defination, algorithm and application of multiscale entropy(MSE),which is applicable to the analysis for the complexity of physiologic signals.The results of studying the selected physiologic time series of heart rate variance show that MSE can robustly separate healthy subjects and patients with congestive heart failure.
