A single-axis acoustic levitator is developed, which can levitate steel ball with density of 7.9g/cm3 stably. Two types of resonant chambers are selected to study the levitation performance in experiment. Numerical calculation and simulation of acoustic field are performed using finite element analysis (FEA).The result indicates that the resonant chamber with concave spherical reflector can enhance the levitation performance, meanwhile the phenomenon that the sample moves along the concave surface of the reflector is analyzed. It is helpful to study more about levitation performance affected by the geometry of acoustic levitator.
