Objective: To restore the incisal angle defect of anterior upper teeth with mini-prepared porcelain veneer, and evaluate the clinical performance of the restoration. Methods: 9 anterior upper teeth with small incisal angle defect of 9 patients were involved in this study. After tooth reduction of 2mm wider than the defect of every teeth, 9 minimally prepared IPS-Empress II veneers were made and luted with Variolink II adhesive system. During the observation period of 12~24 months after placement, prosthodontic results were evaluated, using the CDA quality evaluation system, including margin integrity, anatomic form, surface and color of the veneers. Results: During the period of 12-24 months observation, all of the 9 restorations were rated satisfactory. Conclusions: With strict control of indications, the mini-prepared porcelain veneer could function satisfactorily as an alternative restoration for small incisal defect of anterior upper teeth.
