Objective:To observe the therapeutic effect and safety of edaravone on acute cerebral infarction. Methods:Fifty cases of patients suffering acute cerebral infarction were randomly divided into 2 groups:the treatment group (24 cases) received edaravone plus routine medication for 14days,while the control group (26 cases) received routine medication only. The NIHSS and Barthel indexes were quantified at baseline and after treatment to evaluate the neurologic impairment and therapeutic effect. Results:The NIHSS score and the Barthel index of the treatment group were superior to those of the control group (P0.05).Conclusions:Edaravone has good effectiveness on acute cerebral infarction with appropriate neuroprotective effect.
