The activity of copolymerization system of N p chlorophenyl maleimide with styrene was systematically studied. Ethanol as solvent, we received the optimum polymerization condition of initiator concentration, monomor concentration, polymerization time, polymerization temperature and initiator type. By GPC analysis, the molecular weight of the copolymer were testified. The results of Infra red and Nuclear Magnetic Resonant analysis illustrated that the double bond of N p chlorophenyl maleimide was splitted when polymerizing with styrene, and the copolymerization was carried out in the way of alternation.
