Objective To compare the validity of methods to assess aerobic capacity(AC) for university students. Methods Participants included 289 university students aged 20.04±1.07 yr.A treadmill test was used to estimate peak oxygen consumption(VO2max) as a measure of CRF,step test in different height and stamina running in a different distance also were used. Results VO2max was related to 1500 m running performance, the correlation coefficient r=0.729(P=0.000).There was no significant correlation between VO2max and step index in different height. Conclusion The 1500 m running performance could be a more favorable cardiovascular index for university students.
