Effects of Different High Temperature on Survival Rate of the Cotton Aphid in Xinjiang

【Objective and Method】The experiments were conducted to assess the effects of high temperatures(32,34,36,38,40and 42℃),period of exposure(8 h) on survival rate of Aphis gossypii.【Result】The results showed that the survival rate of cotton Aphid decreased with increase of the temperature.There were no significant differences of the survival rate of Aphis gossypii between 32℃and 36℃,but the survival rate of Aphis gossypii decreased rapidly at 38℃.The survival rate of Aphis gossypii decreased to zero quickly at 40℃ and 42℃.The LT50 of cotton aphids decreased with prolonging of expouring period.【Conclusion】The results showed that the LT50 of cotton aphid is 38.3℃,which provided basis for the prediction and control of cotton aphid.
