Crosstalk analysis for fundamental (LP01) and higher order (LP02) modes have been done for 12-core homogeneous multi core fiber with fixed clad diameter (maximum CD = 200 μm) and clad thickness (CT = 35 μm). The impact of different core arrangement (such as, circular, 2-ring structure and triangular lattice structure or hexagonal close packing - HCP) on the inter-core crosstalk have been analyzed by considering the long distance communication of 100 Km. Crosstalk behavior have been studied analytically on both outer as well as inner cores by varying the fiber bending radius (Rb), transmission distance, and by assigning the trench around the cores. Out of the three core layouts analyzed, HCP has the optimal performance in terms of inter-core crosstalk for both the LP01 and LP02 modes.
