Effect of mirtazapine combined with mental nursing on middle or severe depression of lung cancer patients

Objective To investigate the effect of mirtazapine combined with mental nursing on middle or severe depression of lung cancer patients.Methods Fifty lung cancer patients diagnosed middle or severe depression by psychiatrist were randomly assigned to therapy group and control group,25 cases in each group.All the patients received routine mental nursing,and therapy group was given mirtazapine.The patients′ depression state and the life quality were assessed by Zung-SDS,QLQ-CCC and KPS before therapy and a month after therapy.Results Before therapy,the score of Zung-SDS,QLQ-CCC and KPS were similar in the two groups(P0.05).A month after therapy,SDS score of therapy group decreased more obviously than that of control group(P0.01),and the QLQ-CCC and KPS score increased more obviously(P0.05).Conclusion Mirtazapine combined with mental nursing can release the middle or severe depression,improve the life quality of lung cancer patients.
