Formation Mechanism and Measurement on Corner Crack in Continuous Casting Slabs

Based on the corner crack in continuous casting slabs in certain steel plant,analysis on steel composition,mold operation,secondary cooling control and so on has been carried out to obtain suitable measurements to reduce the corner crack rate.The slab quality could be controlled by controlling steel composition,stabilizing surface of mold,reducing cooling rate of mold and secondary cooling to increase surface temperature of casting slabs.By adjusting the cooling rate of mold and secondary cooling the slab quality has been improved and the cost also has been reduced.
