Analysis of placenta previa risk factors

Objective To explore the risk factors of placenta previa.Methods 198 cases of placenta previa(case group) and 214 cases of single fetal drawn-out randomly as control(control group) were retrospectively analyzed.Results The maternal ages of case group were significantly higher than those of control group,and the morbidity of placenta previa increased greatly(OR1.76,95%CI 1.20-2.60) when ages exceeded 30.Abortion times more than 2(OR 2.68,95%CI1.35-5.33) and cesarean delivery history(OR 1.89,95%CI 1.23-3.11) were the other risk factors of placenta previa happening.Age and gravidity might produce additive influences on the placenta previa occurance.The age,gravidity,parity,induced abortion and cesarean delivery times among different types of plancenta showed no statistical differences.Conclusion Maternal age≥30years,the number of abortion≥2,and previous cesarean section are high risk factors of placenta previa.No significant association between the risk factors and the type of placenta.
