Objective To study the characteristics of TCM syndromes of chronic complications of type Ⅱ diabetes. Methods The basic information,TCM four diagnostic information, and accessory examination information of 162 type Ⅱ diabetes patients with chronic complications were collected. The TCM syndromes of these complications were objectively studied with factor analysis, cluster analysis, and Logistic regression analysis. Results Through the factor analysis,15 common factors basically accorded with TCM syndrome diagnosis were obtained. With the cluster analysis, taking the symptoms and signs as the independent variables, the TCM syndromes of the 162 patients were classified into 5 types. From the binary classification Logistic regression analysis, all syndrome models were confirmed finally. Conclusion By using the multiple statistical analyzing methods, the TCM syndromes of chronic complications of type Ⅱ diabetes are attributed to 5 types, namely, phlegm damp blood stasis,qi and yin both deficiency, spleen deficiency phlegm abundance, yin deficiency heat abundance,as well as yin and yang both deficiency with blood stasis water retention.
