Immobilization of Iron Ions and Its Photo-Fenton Degradation on Malachite Green

A heterogeneous Fenton-catalyst was prepared by loading Fe2+ on a NaY zeolite denoted as FeY.The results showed that the catalyst presented a good light degradation on the malachite green: the degradation ratio was 99.0% in the reaction system when the malachite green was 6 mg/L,H2O2 was 0.01 mol/L,with the addition of the catalyst 1.0 g and irradiation under the white light for 40 min.Further study shows the degradation reaction obeys the pseudo-first order reaction law,the apparent kinetic constant is 0.026 26 min-1.The repeated experiments show that the catalyst prepared by the ion exchange reaction is very stable.
