Atrial fibrillation is the major cause of stroke.Although it can reduce the risk of stroke in atrial fibrillation patients by long-term taking warfarin. The inconvinence of taking warfarin limited its clinical application. The left atrial appendage is the source of cardiac emboli in 90% of patients, exclusion of the left atrial appendage from circulation is an alternative for the prevention of strokes in high-risk patients with atrial fibrillation.Cardiac surgery and other approaches should be used to obliteration left atrial appendage.Currently alternative interventions have the advantage of being less invasive and having a high success rate as well as providing an alternative for patients who have difficulties with warfarin.
