Aptamers are oligonucleotide sequences having a secondary structure that allows them to bind to the target site accurately. Aptamers are molecular structures made up of peptides, RNA, and DNA that have been found for a variety of biological uses, including drug delivery systems. Aptamer-based biosensing systems are gaining popularity in the field of improved clinical diagnostics. It is critical to consolidate the literature on aptamer-based biosensor advances so that researchers may concentrate on the next level of innovation. As previously stated in this chapter, the development of aptamer-based biosensors for biomolecule detection throughout the last few decades will have an influence on the development of improved clinical diagnostics. As a result, aptamer design and optimization are critical for its progress.
