Study on Zoning System for Local Cities by Examing the Change of Zoning with l992 Amendment for City Planning Act

This articles aims at examining how zoning system should be for local cities through the evaluation on the contents and the process of the change of zoning with 1992 amendment for City Planning Act. By questionnaire, special analysis with comparison between old and new zoning map, hearing survey and field survey, we find that 1) residential zonings are reduced while commercial zonings are increased, 2) the application of zoning are different between inside and outside of urbanized area, 3) local cities make emphasis on the correspondence to the diamonds for service uses along trunk roads.
