Extraction of soybean oil by n-pentane

The quality of the crude oil and meal of soybean extracted with n-pentane were compared with that extracted by n-hexane.The result showed that the extraction with n-pentane had more merits than that with n-hexane,such as higher oil yield,light color oil with better quality,lower desolventizing temperature of meal,higher solubility of protein in the meal,and lower cost in the process.The n-pentane is one of good extraction solvents.
