INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION AND THE LOVE CULTURE IN THE DREAM OF RED MANSIONS

Nowadays,as everybody knows,intercultural communication has become more and more frequent,and the study of intercultural communication has been focused more on the dominating cultures between different nations than on the intra-cultural communication,or the intercultural communication between different groups within the same culture.In the Chinese classic The Dream of Red Mansions(Hong Lou Meng),however,the vivid and comprehensive description of the complicated relationships among various characters is just a fine embodiment of this kind of intercultural communication.Through analyzing these communication cases,the author finds that these intercultural communications have a close relationship with the culture of positive emotions,or culture,resounded in this book.In other words,the culture of positive emotions is the foundation of successful intercultural communication.This paper makes an attempt to do a preliminary analysis of the intercultural communication between different groups and,based on this,discusses the significance of love culture in intercultural communication and therefore abstracts the valuable elicitation of the literature works to social linguistics.
