Enlightenment of the Positive Function of Deviance for the Education and Management of University Students

Deviance is the violation of rules. Deviance emerges inevitably because the rules have the features of variability and external subjects always intend to control and the individuals have the internal tendency to pursue interests. However, deviance does not only have negative functions,but also has positive functions. Deviance can clarify the aim and demand of the rules, expose the weakness of the old rules, promote the establishment of new rules and guide the reforms of the society. To understand and evaluate the positive function of deviance has great theoretical significance and guidance value for the educational administration of university students in the period of social transformation.
