Rheological properties of sodium alginate(SA)/carboxymethyl cellulose(CMC)and sodium alginate(SA)/carboxymethyl chitosan(CMCS)blend solutions were investigated, indicating that both exhibited shear-thinning behavior. The apparent viscosity(ηα)and flow activation energy(Eη)decreased with increasing shear rate(γ). The apparent viscosity(ηɑ)and the structural viscosity index(Δη)decreased and the non-Newtonian index(n) increased by raising temperature, reducing CMC content or increasing CMCS content.
