Effects of pressure on growth and metabolism of microorganism for microbial enhanced oil recovery

The major environmental factors affecting microbial enhanced oil recovery(MEOR) are pressure,temperature,salinity,pH,and so on.By using glucose as major carbon source,the in-situ microorganism of produced water from Zhan 3x24,Hekou Oil Plant was cultured under high pressure(10 MPa) and atmospheric pressure.Meanwhile,the community structures,low molecular organic acid and surface tension were analyzed both before and after the culture.The results show that pressure affects community structures,growth and metabolic activities or pathways.Compared with high pressure,there were many species microorganism in abundance under atmospheric pressure,and the metabolic summits appeared 14 days early with short periods.
