Atopic conditions, including asthma, atopic dermatitis, hay fever, and food allergy, are among the most common chronic conditions.1 Atopic conditions can have a significant impact on families and society, including impaired quality of life and increased direct and indirect costs.2 Therefore, a better understanding of risk factors for development of disease is needed.
