For recycling aluminum dross, the characteristics of dross and its reutilization after processing should be considered. Aluminum dross was classified according to its size in this study. The dross larger than 300 {mu}m was directly re-melted to recover aluminum, and the smaller dross was leached and roasted to separate the existed salt and to oxidize the metals contained in the dross. As a result, amount of the dross used to be discarded after processing could be reduced. Also, the chemical compositions of a domestic aluminum dross and the changes in compositions during processing were investigated, and found that most metallic aluminum in the dross was changed into aluminum oxide through the roasting. The processed dross would be utilized for materials such as alumina, alumina cement or tiles. (author). 7 refs., 7 tabs., 1 fig.
