Pulse width as an influencing factor in Optical Time Domain Reflectometry measurements

A wide range of test and measurement equipment for optical networks is available on the market. In this paper we give an overview of Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) measurement aspects for different architectures of optical access networks. The real data obtained by measuring using OTDR is showed and discussed in case of Point to Point (P2P) and Passive Optical Network (PON) architectures.
