Acupuncture for autistic spectrum disorder

This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (Intervention). The objectives are as follows: The objectives of this systematic review are to determine the effectiveness and safety of acupuncture therapy in patients with autism spectrum disorder. We intend to assess whether acupuncture: 1. is effective in reducing social, communication and behavioural impairments; 2. can improve the quality of life and overall functioning; 3. is associated with any adverse effects.
